Hi frens,
I hope your week is going well and you’re giving yourself enough time to relax and recenter. Since moving to the desert, I can easily notice the difference between the high-octane pace I grew accustomed to in LA and the slower lifestyle the desert provides. It’s been about a year now, so sometimes I forget how I felt pre-burnout, but I got reminded again when a friend dropped her bags at my front door and said frantically, “I need to shake the LA off”.
It’s incredibly easy to get wrapped up into the energy of wherever we are, and to be honest, I am a little trepidatious about spending a chunk of time back in LA. Elaboration: there are a handful of non-glamourous things to handle on my plate right now and one of them involves me spending about two months back in LA. I really don’t want to get sucked back into the cadence of incessant doing where I was operating from before entering my desert era (we all remember that not-so-fondly). I intentionally stepped away from the entertainment industry, some business partnerships, and outgrown goals to focus on my mental health and recalibrate to who I am in this stage of my life.
Now that I feel like I’m coming close to completing this cycle, I’m returning to Los Angeles for a bit and I have to keep reminding myself to not forget what I learned during my hiatus in the desert.
