This past month, I’ve been doubling down on self-care and upgrading my daily getting ready routine with small changes that have already made a big impact on how I walk out of my door and into any room. This month’s top 8 are current products that are helping me elevate my self-care rituals and honestly make me feel cleaner, lighter, and more put together all around. Coming from someone who would wake up and instantly start sanding a wall before washing my face, I think we’ve already come so far. Let’s get into it:
I’ve always thought silk fans screamed luxury. What better way to feel fancy first thing in the morning than fanning a face mist or setting spray with this baby? It doubles as decoration when not in use and when in use, I feel like I should have a red carpet bath mat. My new thing is to try and make the mundane fabulous, and already- we’re off to a great start.
I’ve never really taken great care of my hands and nails. I work with paint and power tools so unless I’m going to an event or have to be in front of a camera, I hardly ever have a manicure. BUT I’m trying to enter my classy luxe era where nothing is overlooked and every part of myself is nourished. I put a hand cream in my everyday bag, and this cuticle oil on my nightstand and both have been nice reminders to take ten seconds and give some love back to the hands that have helped create so much in my life. I think of it as tiny acts of love that are both physically and symbolically special.
As I get older, I notice I care about hair health way more than I did when I was 16 bleaching my hair in my parent’s bathroom. And when I was 18, 20, 25- okay fine I box dyed my hair in a Vegas hotel room last month but THE POINT is I’m on a hair growth journey right now and I wanted something that would stimulate my hair growth and calm me down at the same time- that’s where this massager comes in to play. Also on my nightstand, I’ve been spending a bit of time reading and massaging my scalp before bed and it’s been a great way to wind down (and to hopefully one day not need to use bobby pins for my bangs). I add either the Moerie Hair Growth Spray or Rosemary Mint Oil and enjoy a pre-REM scalp massage. 10/10 recommend.
Speaking of bobby pin/bang dilemmas, this hair pomade is climbing to the top as a go-to favorite. I initially discovered this on TikTok as a Kardashian-Jenner crew product and for some reason didn’t add to cart (unlike me) but now years later, here I am jumping on the bandwagon. And for a reason! This helps hair slick back for a sleek look but I also use it for flyaways when I have a center part. It just cleans it all up and the tube makes it so that I don’t have to wipe my hands on anything after applying? Count me in.
I’m coming close to having an ‘essential makeup kit’ where I have my holy grail of products and whenever those get used up, I’ll replenish them with the exact same products without deviation. I’ve done enough testing, trial and error that I’m starting to lock in my power players and this lip oil is solidifying it’s spot on the list. It’s hydrating, a bit of natural color, and long-lasting, and never leaving my handbag.
Even though summer is quickly approaching, these self tan drops may come in handy as it’s been overcast and crummy for almost a month in LA. I mix a few drops of this in my moisturizer any time I start to look paler than I’d like. An incredible thing to have on hand in the winter months, it gives you a boost of natural warmth without the UV rays or that unbecoming orange tone from some self-tanning products. You only need a few drops each time so this lasts what feels like forever.
Speaking of things that last virtually forever, I’ve been using this hair serum for months to tame strays and add a bit of gloss and it’s only a quarter of the way used. Any time my hair needs a bit of a pick me up or is looking a little lifeless or frizzy, one pump of this and I go from scraggly to sleek. Big fan.
I’ve bought a plethora of little gold hoops and oddly, never of them have ever stuck around. Maybe it’s because I had to take them out before showering or working out and they got left behind in some jean pocket I have yet to rediscover. So after years of this same pattern, I decided to invest in everyday pieces that I’d never have to remove. These 14k Gold huggies are classy, timeless, and they’re chunkier than usual so they’ve got their own personality at the same time. I’m not one to spend a chunk of change on jewelry, but with a lifetime warranty and since they’re never going to leave my ears, I think the bag is worth the bucks. I absolutely love ‘em.
Your turn- is there anything that you’ve been incorporating into your self-care/get ready routine that’s added a pep in your step or a bit of confidence? I’m always on the hunt for things to add into my power player products! xM
